Terms of use and medical disclaimer

Effective July 2, 2026

The short version: this site helps you understand your medications. It cannot diagnose, treat, or prescribe, and it is never a substitute for your doctor, your pharmacist, or the label on your prescription.

1. Educational purposes only

All content on KnowYourPills — including drug summaries, directions, warnings, side effect lists, and "call a doctor if" guidance — is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, and it is not a recommendation for or against any medication, dose, or treatment.

2. No doctor–patient relationship

Using this site does not create a doctor–patient, pharmacist–patient, or any other professional relationship between you and KnowYourPills or anyone involved in creating it. No one involved in this site knows your medical history, your other medications, or your circumstances — and all of those change what is safe for you.

3. Always defer to your own healthcare providers

4. Accuracy and completeness

Our summaries are drawn from publicly available sources — primarily FDA labeling and MedlinePlus — and deliberately simplified for readability. That simplification means detail is left out by design: no page on this site lists every use, dose, interaction, side effect, or warning for any medication. Medical knowledge also changes, and content may become outdated. The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for a particular purpose.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KnowYourPills and everyone involved in creating, hosting, or maintaining it shall not be liable for any damages of any kind — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or its content. Your sole and exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction with the site is to stop using it.

6. Third-party names and links

Brand names (such as Lipitor, Zoloft, or Ventolin) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to help you identify medications. Their mention is not an endorsement, and no manufacturer sponsors or endorses this site. Links to external sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

7. Intellectual property

The site's original text, design, and code are the property of KnowYourPills. You may link to any page freely. Please don't republish the content wholesale without permission.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version, and continued use of the site means you accept the current terms.
