Sildenafil
Urinary and men's healthAlso known as Viagra
Sildenafil treats erectile dysfunction by improving blood flow where it counts. It doesn't create desire — it works with arousal that's already there. Take it about 30 to 60 minutes before intimacy, and no more than one dose in a day. The number one rule: never take it with nitrates like nitroglycerin or isosorbide — the combination can crash your blood pressure dangerously.
How to take it
When
About 30-60 minutes before intimacy. One dose per day, maximum.
Food
A heavy, fatty meal can slow it down. It works faster on a lighter stomach.
Avoid
NEVER with nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide) — dangerous blood pressure crash. Caution with alpha blockers like tamsulosin too.
Good to know
Chest pain during sex? Call emergency services and tell them you took sildenafil.
Missed a dose?
It's taken only when you need it, so there's no missed dose to worry about. Just never take more than one dose in 24 hours.
