Atomoxetine
ADHD and focusAlso known as Strattera
Atomoxetine treats ADHD without being a stimulant — that's its honest difference. It's not a controlled substance, there's no abuse potential, and no locked-cabinet routine. The trade-off is patience: it builds up gradually and can take several weeks to show its full effect. Take it every day, exactly as prescribed, even before you feel the difference.
How to take it
When
Same time every day. Some people split it morning and evening — follow your prescription.
Food
You can take it with or without food. Taking it with a meal can ease stomach upset.
Avoid
Don't stop just because you don't feel it yet — it genuinely takes weeks to work.
Good to know
It's not habit-forming and not a controlled substance — no special storage rules needed.
Missed a dose?
Take it as soon as you remember that day. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Never double up.
